Lithium-ion batteries can be divided into digital and power batteries according to their application. Digital batteries mainly use lithium cobaltate and ternary material system, while power batteries mainly use lithium iron phosphate and ternary material. At present, the market share of lithium iron phosphate batteries in electric vehicles in the domestic market is relatively high. With the gradual advancement of industrialisation, the problem of disposal of used power batteries, a worry for the development of new energy vehicles, will also become increasingly apparent. If disposed of improperly, it will cause serious safety hazards and waste of resources.

The physical sorting method is generally used to crush the lithium-ion battery to below 5 mesh particles, and then use sieving and magnetic separation to separate the different characteristics of the metal according to the physical properties of specific gravity, magnetic and electrical properties. The physical sorting method is one of the more frequently used methods.

Currently, the waste battery recycling process consists of three main steps: pre-treatment of waste batteries, secondary treatment of electrode materials and deep recycling. Each step contains multiple treatment methods, which also causes the complexity of power battery recycling. Pre-treatment of used batteries mainly involves shredding or sieving to remove hazardous sources, breaking down used batteries and achieving simple separation and classification. Detailed and effective treatment methods and recycling processes can help improve the recycling rate of used batteries. The current recycling efficiency of used batteries is still at an inefficient stage, and there is an urgent need to develop efficient treatment methods and recycling processes.

The recycling of used lithium-ion batteries involves separating the economically valuable structural components of used lithium-ion batteries according to their physical and chemical properties. As shown in Figure 3, due to the differences in separation and extraction methods, lithium ion battery recycling technologies can be divided into three main categories: (dry recycling), wet treatment and biological treatment. Compared to the wet and dry methods, the mechanical-physical method does not require the use of flammable chemicals and consumes less energy than the above two methods, making it an environmentally friendly and efficient method.

New technology physical method lithium battery recycling and treatment equipment used power lithium-ion battery green treatment technology, to solve the technical problems of recycling of used power lithium-ion batteries, eliminating the traditional electrode materials and electrolyte and other substances, recycling costs, recycling efficiency and environmental issues gradually optimized, for the recycling of used lithium batteries will become more and more efficient, safe and environmentally friendly.
