The effective separation of plastic and aluminum foil in pharmaceutical blister packaging is a key step in the recycling process. To achieve this, recycling facilities typically use the following types of machines and technologies:

First, the eddy current separator. It uses a magnetic field to induce eddy currents on the aluminum foil, causing the plastic and aluminum foil to repel and separate. The machine can efficiently separate aluminum foil and plastic based on the different electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability of the two materials.

Second, air flow sorting machine. It uses air flow as a medium to separate lightweight plastics from heavier aluminum foil based on density differences. Third, electrostatic separator. It applies the principle of electrostatic separation and uses the difference in conductivity between plastic and aluminum foil to separate them. When the pharmaceutical blister packaging is transported through the electrostatic separator, an electric charge is applied, causing the plastic components with higher conductivity to transfer to specific electrodes and separate the aluminum foil.

Fourth, optical recognition machine. It uses optical sensors and image recognition technology to detect and classify different plastics and aluminum foils based on the material's optical characteristics such as color, shape, and size. After identification, the system can divert plastic and aluminum foil separately to complete sorting.
